Back in the late eighties I met and painted the subject in this painting. He was the first in my series of homeless men. Over the years we have each changed with age. He has kept his hair and I have lost mine.
He still lives in “Eye Sore Acres”, a collection of pieces from many places. He collects signs, which he attached to a shack of prized possessions. Like the barking dog, you are warned by the signs to keep your distance. Privacy is needed here. If a sign can not be found to describe the occupant, then a homemade sign is created. In this case, “The Sonabitch”.
